A free service that lets you watch TV progammes you missed on your computer.  It includes links to BBC iPlayer, and catchup links to ITV, Channels 4 and 5 and some Sky channels. You will need to sign up and choose a username and password, and log on with these every time you use the site.

Which Magazine's website full  of thousands of product reviews and comparisons.  Without subscribing you can browse for basic information on more or less any product, for detailed reviews you will need to sign up and subscribe (this includes receiving the monthly magazine by post). A complex site but has something relevant for everybody.

A clear and comprehensive site covering all their campaigns and activities The University of the Third Age's site - a self help organisation provising educatonal and leisure opportunities for older people, offering courses of study, lectures, activities for a wide range of interests, all for fun.

Ancestor hunting resources all under one roof!  Access a vast range of archives going back in time. Preliminary searches are free, but subscription required for in-depth work. Worth signing up if you are keen.

Kodak's highly recommended site giving tips on taking good photos with your digital camera. Make sure you are in the Tips and Projects section, and start with Top Ten Tips. Also gives advice for photographing people, animals, holidays, events and suggests projects.
Five of the main national newspapers. (All papers will have their own site. N.B. Necessary to pay a subscription for The Times.) Each contains all elements you'd find in the actual paper - click on the section of your choice to see articles, news, sport, travel, games etc. Find articles you missed in the archives. Clearly written and straightforward for finding your way round.

Good if you want to know how much houses in your street sold for. Also has a directory of property professionals nationwide. You need to register but it's free and quick.  Zoopla is a similar site also used by estate agents.

Large, comprehensive site for finding out what's on where. Our two links take you to theatres and cinemas. Use alphabetical search to find out what's on when, get phone number and address of theatres, book online if you wish (takes you to Ticketmaster's website for this).
